Mass

What is mass?

Mass is the quantity of matter present in a body. Remember mass is not weight. Don't confuse Mass and weight, they are two different things.

To explain it in more simple words, lets take an example: if you go to a general store and ask for 2 kilo-gram of sugar. The shopkeeper will give you a plastic bag filled with two kilo-gram sugar crystals. The quantity or the number of sugar crystals in that plastic bag is Mass of sugar and two kilo is the Weight of sugar.
If you concentrate and think carefully only then you will get the difference between Mass and Weight.

Well.. the definition of Mass is:
The quantity or amount of matter present in a body is called its mass.

Mass is the measure of how much stuff is present in an object. Mass is directly proportional to weight means if mass increases the wight will also increase but if put in a place where theres no gravity such as Space then there will be no weight only mass will be present in a body that is also the reason why it is really hard to stop or start moving a space shuttle in space.
