Geometry

What is GEOMETRY?
Geometry is a branch of Mathematics. It is concerned with the relations of shapes and relative arrangement of parts or things such as points, lines, surfaces, solids and higher dimensional analogues. It is the most basic science and elementary form of mathematics

The word Geometry is derived from Greek word Geo (earth) and Metron (measure) which indicates that Geometry is actually a science to understand and perform calculations about earth.

Geometry was invented by a Greek mathematician Euclid, he was known as father of Geometry. It is considered as the oldest branch of mathematics and no one can tell exactly when it was invented although some records suggest that Geometry was first used in Egypt around 3000BC.
